SafePlug® is the new generation of drilled fastenings for railways.
Our HBD plugs are approved by Network Rail in England.
This specially developed SafePlug® uses HARDLOCK®, the world's strongest self-locking nut!

Features:
- Dual contact surfaces
An extra conical tin-plated bushing pressed into the plug ensures that the top side of the cable lug (via the nut and washer) is also part of the electrical circuit.
- Polished plug
When the plug is installed, the plug flange is automatically polished by the installation tool. The underside of the cable lug always contacts an oxide-free, flat surface.
- Tin-plated contact surfaces
The bushings of the SafePlug® BASIC are tin-plated.
- Stainless steel bolt
SafePlug® BASIC comes with stainless steel bolts and self-locking nuts.
- Gas-tight joint
All contact surfaces between the cable lug, plug, and rail are gas-tight, a requirement to prevent the electrical connection from degrading due to corrosion.
- No hydraulic tools required
No heavy hydraulic tools are needed to pull through the bushing. For the expansion of the bushing and the installation of cable lugs, only a simple mechanical installation tool is required, along with a standard torque wrench or a powerful standard nutrunner.
- HARDLOCK Nut
HARDLOCK remains intact regardless of exposure to heat, high currents, or the strongest vibrations. Japanese railways have specified HARDLOCK for over 40 years.
In the UK, Network Rail has specified HARDLOCK for over 10 years, and new applications are constantly being added.
