RDC( 3rd rail and switch point heating) is a unique Power Limiting Parallel heating cable that´s designed for the railway industry need for a powerful, robust and efficient heating cable to trace, power rails and switches. A wrapped resistance wire (patent) arrange for current limitation to the cable. This will allow the RDC cable to deliver maximum power if necessary (RDC 40 gives 131 W / m, RDC 30 provides 98 W / m). Thanks to a built-in "Soft start" feature, you do not secure the facility due to surge cold start.
RDC is coated with a unique silicone based outer casing which is smooth off the heat and is thermiskt leading which provides superior heat transfer to the rail. RDC is used for both AC and DC. RDC is very easy to install. Available current length of the drum or factory installed connections in defined lengths.
RDC used in isolation, together with temperature sensors mounted on the rail and a snow/temperatursensors, or with a control box that provides more control and monitoring capabilities.
You can also combine the RDC with RWA / RWH heating panels where you place the RWA / RWH outside the outer rail at the level of turnout and RDC along the rest of the gear.
