2M Crack Detection No.1 Cleaner is the first step in a three-step dye penetrant inspection system and is used to thoroughly clean the surface before applying the penetrant. Proper surface preparation is essential to achieve reliable and accurate crack detection results.
For best results, shake each component thoroughly before use.
Application – Step by step
- Clean the surface thoroughly with #1 Cleaner to remove dirt, grease, and other contaminants.
- Apply #2 Penetrant to the cleaned surface.
- Remove excess penetrant by carefully cleaning the surface again with #1 Cleaner.
- Apply Developer (#3) in a thin, even layer.
After approximately 1–2 minutes, the contrasting background fades and any cracks become clearly visible as red indications, depending on the width and depth of the defects.
The product is suitable for surface preparation and cleaning in crack detection applications within workshops, industrial environments, and maintenance work.
