SafeGrip™ Type D is a robust, maintenance-free connection clamp used as a signal connection or short-circuit device on railways. It can be applied either temporarily or permanently and is delivered from the factory with pre-crimped cables in the desired length and dimension.
The design is based on specially hardened Swedish spring steel that provides high and consistent contact pressure against the rail. The self-cutting contact screw ensures a secure electrical connection with low transition resistance – even under vibration, moisture, or cold conditions.
A special version of SafeGrip™ Type D is used as a TCOD (Track Circuit Operating Device), which holds permanent approval from Network Rail in the United Kingdom.
