Rail Road Excavator

The TW160/165 (20T) and TW180 (22T) rail road excavators are equipped with an exceptionally stable and robust rail gear system, designed for demanding rail infrastructure operations.

The permanently mounted rail gear can be fitted with an optional quick-change system for meter gauge, standard gauge, and tram tracks, ensuring maximum operational flexibility.

Thanks to their compact design and short counterweight radius, these machines can operate in confined environments while maintaining outstanding stability. The excavators can travel in both high (9B) and low (9C) rail configurations, with optional hydrostatic axles (9A) available.

The front axle features a swing system that can be operated both automatically and manually, ensuring optimal stability under all working conditions.

All rail gear functions — including lifting and lowering — are controlled via a single, intuitive control screen. The display also shows the real-time status of the rail gear, RCI system, and optional camera system.

With the integrated internet module, remote diagnostics, servicing, and software updates can be performed from any location.

The rail gear system is designed and manufactured in accordance with EN 15746, with final assembly compliant with national guidelines such as TCVT, Infrabel, TSA, and BAV.
